rdn_logo.gif (1761 Byte)The old symbolism has had its day since the letters RDN only associate with the old company name.  Those who want to be innovative should also redesign their outer appearance.  For this reason we assigned our new company a symbol that we really like after going through lengthy labor pains and real compromises:

Nevertheless, we would not like to withhold the symbolic meanings of circle and triangle from you as an interesting detail on the margin.  Lastly, because there will always be people who will try to interpret our company logo.

Circle:

The circle plays an important role in the symbolism of most religions.   Since prehistory, the circle is the sign of the sun and its vitality.  The connection of its endless line and static calm let it become the symbol for god and heaven (e.g. church domes) or the area of godliness (e.g. halo).  The circle's unbreakable ring let it become a magical protection zone or the symbol of strength.  Its resemblance to the ever newly returning seasons let it become the symbol of time and infinity, of life, and the years.  Very early, dwellings were built in circles; magical processions around shrines (e.g. the Kaaba or Christian churches), living areas or the fire were supposed to offer protection against danger or defeat the symbolically orbited object (e.g. destruction of Jericho).  This symbolism was also adopted in the   private area (e.g. wedding ring and bishop ring; ear and nose rings; spinster and bride wreaths).

Triangle:

In prehistoric time, the triangle was often the symbol of the mount of Venus for the Greeks, and symbol of the phallus in India.  It appeared to the Pythagoreans as a form creating principle of the universe.  Plato took up this idea.  In the late antiquity, the triangle played a large role in the amulet and magic fields especially the Egyptians interpreted it as trinomial.  Christian Gnostics, especially the Manicheans adopted it as symbol of trinity.  Augustine contradicted this so effectively that it didn't reappear, except in the Irish book illumination (round late 700), until the 11th century, however not by itself but in connection with the hand, later with the head, finally with the name or eye of god.

Even today, the triangle applies to many peoples as a sign of protection.
