Application

The control unit BG222-U was developed for the RADIODATA duplex radio equipment series SE217/SE221 for the operation as mobile or stationary radio equipment.

The equipment meets the climatic, mechanical and electrical loads of BOS radio equipment FuG8ab-1/9b/c.

The equipment is suitable to control BOS radio equipment: FuG 8b-1 and FuGb/c of firms SEL, BOSCH and Motorola, and the signaling system of the Radio Message System.

In stationary radio equipment, the control equipment operates as remote control receiver and status report equipment.

Function and Operating Mode

Modern components determine the characteristics of modern control unit.

• Radio equipment control

CMOS single microprocessor chip controls the radio equipment and provides the control unit with completely new possibilities regarding rapid adaptation to new user demands.

 

• Data transmission

Besides operating the radio equipment, the processor controls with the aid of an integrated data interface the functions of modern radio signaling systems, e.g. BOS Radio Message System.

 

• Muting

During the reception of data from the radio circle, the reception path for loudspeaker and receiver is blocked for the duration of the data telegram reception.

 

• EEROM

For the non-volatile setting of operating parameters, an electrically programmable memory (EEROM) is used:  Stored are:

Control unit simulation FuG8b1 or FuG9c preset channel storage channel blocking pattern.

Storage of identification and the operating features for the Radio Message System.

 

Structure

The BG 222-U control equipment is a compact unit, which forms a solid radio facility with the radio device block and is dust protected and water proof according to DIN 400400 – IP 54.

The control equipment is compatible with FugSb-1, FuG9c of firm SEL, BOSCH / Motorola, regarding mechanical and electrical connection.

The equipment has an integrated loudspeaker.

The control unit is subdivided into plug-in type function modules, which are joined by reliable plug-in connections.

Types

Operating programs for various tasks of the control equipment are stored in program memory of the microprocessor.  The electrical structures of all types are the same.
